Help! Fondant or Fondon’t(LOL) ?
I am baking a vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting for my 1 year olds birthday, i am a brand new “fondanter” and i wanted to make a pretty cake for my baby that she will also think is yummy! I heard things about fondant being not so yummy (I bought a box of Wilton Rolled Fondant). Should i just stick to the frosting or should i also use the fondant? If i do use the fondant am i supposed to put it over the cake AND the icing??

Fondant can be good if made right. Please don’t use the Wilton Fondant-it taste like rubber. If you have a baking supply store close by, go get some Choco-Pan. Tastes great and easier to work with. Yes you have to put a thin layer of icing on the cake before fondant is applied. (If you are using cream cheese icing make sure you get a favor of the Choco-pan that will compliment the favor of the cream cheese)
