How do we teach our kitten to not play in the Christmas tree?
My husband bought me a new kitten for Christmas and she is constantly climbing the Christmas tree and chewing and tearing holes in the wrapping paper of all the gifts. Today she ripped the bows off and hide them throughout the house. It was kinda cute at first, but now we are sick of re-wrapping gifts and having to pull her out of the tree. Any suggestions for training her will be very appreciated. Thanks
You can’t. Take the tree down or put it in another room (with a door). The best thing about having cats is that you have a built-in excuse to not have to decorate for any holiday. Even though our living room is closed off from the rest of the house by french doors, we just say, “Oh, we can’t have a tree because of the cats.” No one knows it’s just because we don’t want the hassle of decorating!
