Is being a Speech Pathologist in the school system fun and rewarding?
I am a elementary school teacher now and am thinking about getting my masters and specializing in Speech Pathology. I just wondered if it was as rewarding as teaching, and if it is a fun and interesting job?
I am a PT who works in the schools. The SLPs are great and appear to love what they do.. I live in NY and it is hard to get a job in the schools. They recently had a 6 month long term sub position and had 25 applicants. The person just found out that she will become permanent as someone else is retiring and she now has proved herself. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of jobs for SLPs but not in the schools.
