Plastic Seahorse
How to decorate betta tank?
I would like to know what kinds of plants are good to put in betta tanks, and what kind of care will be required of the plants? Also, is it ok to put driftwood in the tank? How should I set up a happy home for my new fish? (I currently have 1 plastic plant, a small seahorse decoration, and a large reptile cave looking thing – I can remove any of these as necessary and replace them with things my betta will enjoy).

If your tank is cycled then live plants are the way to do-just make sure you rise them off a ton in the hottest water you can stand because snails sometimes hike a ride on them into your tank and at first they’re too small to been seen so you can’t just to pick them off.
I change out the decorations once a month in mine, but that’s not necessary-I think mine just get bored. Plant-wise if you have an uncycled tank silk plants are the best choice. Some plastic plants are ok, but most aren’t. For plants and decor to hide in it’s best to do the “pantyhose test.” Take a pair of panyhouse and run it over the object. If the pantyhose snag or tear they your betta’s delicate fins will, too.
