Picks Cake

How do you make cupcake picks?
I have a 4 year old granddaughter and the latest thing seems to be to give each child a cupcake pick with their piece of cake. These are the little toothpick like things that sit on the top of the cake. She’s wanting “doggies” and I cannot find them anywhere. Her birthday is Saturday. I need to make something. Any ideas how??
If she has a “favorite” doggie–especially a real one, take a pic of it and crop it down to the size of about a quarter. Cut & Paste the image until you have copied it many times, then print it out on a thick, card-stock type paper. Then, cut them out and just glue them onto regular toothpicks–front & back! How fun for your granddaughter to have VERY personalized doggie picks!

Pickin’ Up the Pieces: The Best of Average White Band 1974-1980 $4.89 If they’d never cut another track after their monster-grooving, No. 1 R&B instrumental, “Pick Up the Pieces,” the Average White Band still would have earned an enduring place in the music pantheon–and the Irony Hall of Fame, the latter due to their improbable Scottish roots. After all, they were six soul-smitten musical journeymen hailing from quarters much nearer the Mull of Kintyre than Motown…. |

Lions $5.13 “Now I’ve traded my black feathers for a crown,” sings Chris Robinson, and the vibrant, roaring music on Lions supports his claim to rule the jungle. Working with producer Don Was, the Robinson boys and crew make bold sonic leaps forward, sounding both heavier and more nuanced simultaneously. In the mid-1990s the Crowes’ attempts at experimentation were much less successful, often sounding forced … |
