Party Favor
Who gets a party favor at a wedding?
My fiance and I are having some trouble regarding party favors. If we invite a friend, and he brings a guest (his girlfriend), does his girlfriend get a party favor as well? Or is it just 1 per the couple? Note, we addressed each invitation to “[Friend's Name] and Guest”. The party favors are champagne flutes and sugar coated almonds.
I find two schools of thought on this: 1 per couple or 1 per person. I think both are perfectly acceptable etiquette-wise, but when you do 1 per couple I find some people want more than one so they’ll grab the favor that is intended to go to a different couple.
I like the 1 per person route because 1 per couple seems stingy to me (although I understand all about saving $$$ as a BTB myself). Yet some people won’t want 2 of whatever it is that is being handed out and they will tell you to do 1 per couple.
Its really up to you, but my vote is 1 per person.
