Girl Pink
hey, does anyone know about a fairy novel or book with a cover of a little girl with pink hair and fairies?
i read it bout 5-10 years ago. it has a cover with a girl with pink hair. as far as i can remember the plot involves a woman saving a fairy, in return it gives her a child which has rosy cheeks and pink hair. i think, but i can;t remember but i know i like it. sounds weird i know, but oh well. any help, thanks.
If you mean blue hair instead of pink, it could be “The Fairy Rebel” by Lynne Reid Banks.
In “The Fairy Rebel” a woman is depressed because she is crippled and wants a child, and meets a fairy in her garden who is being picked on by another fairy for being overweight. The large fairy is grateful and feels sorry for the woman and tries to use magic to give her a child.
The fairies are invisible unless they are touching a human and can imagine clothing for themselves. The woman says that she wants a child as pink as a new rose with hair as brown as a robin’s wing. The fairy gets confused about which bird the woman says and thinks of a bluebird. The fairy goes to the fairy queen to remedy the mistake, who punishes the helpful fairy since the fey are not supposed to interfere with humans.
The child is eventually born with mostly brown hair, except for six strands of blue hidden in the back. It turns out later that the strands of hair are magic.
