Fairy Birthday
Can fairy cakes, doughnuts etc etc, be made with wholemeal flour. And why are these not available in shops?
When I am in supermarkets, I always look for a wholemeal alternatives. I often wonder why products such as fairy cakes, doughnuts, jam doughnuts crossiants birthday cakes etc etc, are not made using wholemeal flour. I would like to know, can these bakery products be made using wholemeal flour. If yes, then why are they not available on the high street?
they most likely can “technically” be made, but the flour won’t create the right texture or consistency and this can completely alter it’s taste and compromise your enjoyment of the food (a fairycake with wholemeal just wouldn’t taste like a fairycake because it needs the softer white flour to create the right softness). wholemeal is much more dense and thicker in consistency cos it consists of a much more complex makeup.
