What are the first steps to be more "green" or earth friendly when living in an apartment?
My husband and I live in a small apartment, and want to know the basis for the life of the countryside. Any advice?
The key is to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Reduce your purchases (of goods and energy). We were asked to be super-consumers in recent years, but much of what we buy is unnecessary things that end up quickly in landfills. Our parents were very happy with much less material and held with the neighbors is the cause of a high level of stress. We also need more hours to earn money to buy things that might delight to spend time with family and friends work. Reuse things in life even replace him, but because he is somewhat dilapidated or obsolete. Learn to repair. Again with the neighbors is stressful while big satisfaction in the repair. Prepare things that can not be reused. Living in an apartment that you will not save much space, so I can Google "Freecycle" and the city (for example, recommend Freecycle Toronto). It will probably take you to a community of people who save things to promote the collection of members the community who can use them. It is a great way to reduce what goes to landfill.
