Question about baking a cake?
I have a cake pan that was given to me that I’m thinking about using for my daughter’s 1st birthday… it’s a really cute duckie pan. Except that there’s a huge hole in the pan, right where the duck’s neck is. It looks like it’s supposed to be there too, it’s perfectly round So I’m just trying to figure out how I’m supposed to bake with it without all the batter dripping out of the pan onto the bottom of my oven. Advice is appreciated!
I would put your pan on a cookie sheet and use a piece of Reynolds release making the piece much bigger then the hole and so it molds itself in the pan and kind of molds with it. I just would not make it so big that it goes up the sides of the pan. Cover the hole making sure the non-stick side is facing up. Fill up your pan with the batter making sure the hole does not get uncovered. Carefully move the pan on the cookie sheet to the oven. No guarantees that this will work but maybe.
