white dots on baby’s face?
my baby is 2inhalf months old and she still has the “baby pimples” white dots on her face. when do they go away and what excatlly are they,
It’s called Milia and it is basically dead skin cells that have not sloughed off properly(b/c the babies oil glands haven’t fully developed), so the cells get trapped in the skin. My daughter is 5 months and still has a few. I left hers alone and some went away just by using a warm wash cloth a few times a day and some just didn’t seem to be going away so i used my nail on a few that looked like they were very close to the surface of the skin when she was nursing just to see if I could clear them away….it worked. I didn’t “squeeze” them…more like lightly scraped my nail over it. But you have to be careful b/c you don’t want to leave a scar, so if nothing is happening then stop. I’d leave her alone for now and see if they do just go away on their own. They usually last 2-3 months.
