Degradable White
I NEED TO KNOW…What can I use to wash my poly-spandex pillow cases to get them white?
I have tried dishwasher detergent, Whisk, and my regular bio-degradable washing detergent.
I have never put these cases in the dryer and have always washed them in the delicate cycle and use warm water. They have turned a yellow-gray in about 6 months. They were so nice a white when I purchased them. I wash them twice a week, so my hair can’t have turned them this color.
What can I do? Anyone out there know?
Wash the pillowcases in your washer with regular detergent + 2 scoops of Oxi Clean. If the pillowcases can tolerate the Warm water setting, use that. (I would not use the Hot water setting, tho…not with spandex.)
The Oxi Clean should whiten the pillowcases. It can even whiten the dinginess caused by chlorine bleach.
And you’re right not to dry the pillowcases in the dryer. Machine drying can ruin spandex.
