My guppies are nipping at decor and darting into it?
I have 2 female guppies and 1 male. Most of the time they swim around happily and eat normally. Tonight, after I turned out the hood light, they were ALL nipping at the top side of this decoration/flintstones house looking thing and then darting into it, bumping it with their bellies and sides. They did it for a few minutes straight tonight, but they just do it randomly sometimes. They don’t do it with anything else in the tank, and are pretty active. Should I be concerned about their behavior or are they just goofing off?
completely normal! i myself have observed this in my guppy tank. it provbably has tiny bubbles on it (possibly from your filter)/if you feed them flake food, some could have sunk and settled on the ornament/anything it thinks it can eat, this can even be the paintwork on the ornament. it could also be snail eggs or stuff you can’t even see. as for the rubbing up agains the ornaments? i have found this to be normal too. it is just a playfull behaviour of theirs, they are probably happy and feeling energetic.
