Buffett Parrothead
If you’re a Parrothead, can you spare a minute or two?
I’m wondering about some general things regarding my fellow Parrotheads. You know the kinds of things: How long have you been into Buffett? How many concerts? Do you have a favorite concert memory? Who turned you onto Buffett? etc, etc.
To get it started, here’s the Readers’ Digest version of my life as a Parrothead:
I was turned on by my friend from Connecticut while we both attended Indiana University in the early ’80s. I have been to about 35 concerts in 5 states (Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois). I already have my tickets to this year’s concerts in Indianapolis and Cincinnati. It says “Parrothead” on my license plate frame.

I have been a Buffett fan since I went to my first concert when I was only 15 years old. I was turned onto Buffett listening to my parents’ albums and later, cassette tapes.
I’ve been to about a dozen Buffett concerts…all in Cincinnati.
My favorite concert memory would have to be from the years he was in Cincy for five concerts in a row. That was the best! Two years in a row I went to two concerts. Tuesday’s and Saturday’s. They were incredible. It was a blast and then knowing it was only three more days until you got to live the experience again….Now he comes for one – maybe two dates, if we’re lucky.
I have two favorite songs: One Particular Harbor and Gypsies In The Palace.
