What type of party balloons are best?
I see there are several types of balloons available and I am not sure which one is best or which ones have the longest float time etc. I know I need helium quality, what about latex? Are latex balloons better? What about pearlized balloons are they made of a thicker material? Thanks!
Latex balloons have been, are now, and probably will be the favorite with the masses. I know they are with me, but regardless, Qualatex brand is among the highest quality. The “best” balloon is a matter of personal taste. Best in terms of what? If you want your helium filled latex balloons to float longer, put what the balloon industry calls Hi Float in them prior to inflating. This rubbery substance delays the inevitable seep of helium molecules through the porous balloon skin. Mylar balloons will float much longer, but the latex are more fun to pop later on. Pearlized latex balloons, for reasons I am not quite sure of, are stronger probably due to the pigment characteristics. They are hard and tight upon initial inflation, but grow bigger and get softer with repeated inflations/deflations. They can support more weight than a standard colored balloon, so keep that in mind when planning out games, especially games that involve sitting on balloons.
