To start our getaway with a blast, my teammates and I planned to go to Sentosa, Singapore's local Boracay. But before we did that, we had to stop by VivoCity Mall at Harbourfront - the gateway to Sentosa. [Related Post: VivoCity Mall] Tired from a three-and-a-half hour flight from Manila, our team found an answer to our hungry stomachs in a fine Italian restaurant that is Modesto's.
Modesto's. This restaurant is found at the ground level of VivoCity mall, near the bay area. Truly fine, truly Italian.Modesto's serve a whole lot of fine Italian dishes, from pasta to pizza to desserts. One thing that really caught my attention was their service system. One waiter/waitress would get your order, another would be responsible for serving your drinks, another to serve your meals, and yet another to arrange your bill. One cannot do other tasks other than what is assigned to him. Weird? I don't know. Haha.
The waitress who served our drinks though, is a 17-year old Cagayan De Oro native who was serving her internship at Singapore. Moreover, the waitress who arranged our bill is from Pampanga. (Theory applies. Filipinos are all over the world.) It's a shame that we forgot their names, but we sure did give them high recommendations in the feedback form. Love your own! Ü
Overall, this restaurant is not bad, not excellent, just okay. Prices are moderately high. There were six of us and each paid SGD 35.80, roughly translated to PHP 1150.
Below is my Modesto's photoblog. Enjoy!
I have a feeling that this restaurant started from San Marino, Italy.
